BURLINGTON, Vt.- It's the most preventable cause of disability, and Saturday, dozens turned out to spread the word for the Stroke Awareness Rally,

The event kicked off Saturday morning at 11 a.m. on Church Street in Burlington, and lasted until about 2 p.m.

During the rally, people explained to others about the warning signs of stroke, so you can prevent it.

"Stroke is really one of the biggest killers in our society. Its not something you can catch. Its something that comes out of your lifestyle. How to prevent stroke is how to be healthy for you and your family," said Joseph Friedman, UVM Medvita Club.

Former Boston Redsox pitcher Bill "Spaceman" Lee made an appearance, along with our very own Lauren Maloney to show support.
