State biologists believe they like the building because of its closeness to Otter Creek and the warmth from the power generation.
“It’s great to know we are helping the bat population,” said Green Mountain Power’s Owen Stolarcyk who oversees the operations at the Middlebury Hydro plant. “They are great co-workers and it’s easy to go about our work with the bats living here.”
Green Mountain Power says the animals are welcome to stay.
