This is drill weekend for the Vermont Air National Guard.
A number of F-16's are taking off from South Burlington, and flying over Western New York to New Hampshire and Maine.
The pilots are practicing different training exercises, like a sortie, that's when the F-16's come out from a defensive position to attack.
"What you'll see is that we fly more soirte on drill weekend because we have the traditional guardsmen here, and to give them the opportunity to train as much as the full timers do. We have to incease soirte's on drill weekend, we do that one saturday every month," said Col. T.J. Jackman, 158 Fighter Wing Commander.
People who want to see the jets in action can do so the 1st Saturday in August for an Open House at the Vermont Air National Guard Base in South Burlington
