POULTNEY, Vt. - Vermont State Police arrested a Mobil Station employee accused of stealing from the gas station.

Police say the store manager of the gas station, located on East Main Street, reported that the cash drawer was short on several occasions starting in April 2014.

Joseph Richardson, 20, of Fair Haven, Vt., who was working at the Mobil Station since March 2014, was charged with eight counts of petit larceny.

Richardson had an active arrest warrant for failing to appear in criminal court in December 2013. He was charged with possession of narcotics in Rutland.

Richardson was transported and lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Center. He scheduled to appear in court in July.
