Gov. Shumlin Declares May Foster Care Month

MONTPELIER, Vt. - Vermont has more than 750 kids in foster homes right now.

Governor Peter Shumlin declared May Foster Care Month in Vermont. He signed a proclamation surrounded by foster kids and parents today.

Gov. Shumlin wanted to honor everyone involved with taking in a child in need.

"Brothers and sisters, everyone thats involved," Gov. Shumlin said. "Grandparents that help to make our system so strong. So thanks from the bottom of my heart for all that you do."
