MONTPELIER, Vt. - Gov. Peter Shumlin (D-Vermont) has endorsed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for President in 2016.
The Democratic Governor hadn't endorsed anyone for the primary until Wednesday, when he tweeted out a message from his campaign account, "Shumlin for Governor" (@PeterShumlin). He hasn't tweeted from that account since the November election.
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is running against Clinton in the Democratic primary, but many Vermont politicians are endorsing Clinton including Sen. Patrick Leahy and Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger.
