Law Enforcement Officials Bust Two Underage Drinking Parties

BURLINGTON, Vt. -  Law enforcement officials who are part of the the Chittenden County Stop Teen Alcohol Team (S.T.A.R.T.) program conducted a proactive patrol to try and curb underage drinking on Saturday.

During their patrol they busted a party at 84 Green Street in Burlington after a noise complaint. Police say several underage individuals had consumed alcohol at the party. Drugs and other paraphernalia were seized. Both residents were cited for enabling consumption by minors. 

Another underage drinking party at 9 Booth Street was busted after police received a noise complaint. Police say several underage individuals consumed alcohol at the party. At least one was brought to the detox center. All five residents were cited for enabling consumption by minors. 

The underage drinking enforcement resulted in approximately 50 tickets/referrals to court diversion for underage consumption/possession. There seven citations issued between both parties.

Police say they also had seven motor vehicle stops, one arrest for DUI, three fake ID confiscations, and four Vermont traffic complaints. 

Officers were patrolling from 7:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
