Many at Meeting Oppose Addison Pipeline Plan
By Joe Gullo
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Plans for a natural gas pipeline from Middlebury to Ticonderoga, N.Y. got more support Wednesday night.
The Addison County Regional Planning Commission voted 15 to 11 in favor of phase two.
The expansion would supply natural gas under Lake Champlain, eventually supplying the International Paper Mill.
FOX 44 and ABC 22 was told it was a long meeting, standing room only. The majority of people who came, were not in favor of it.
Wednesday was just an advisory vote. Ultimately, the public service board will have the final say.
Phase one has already been approved.
