CAMBRIDGE, Vt. - Some rivers in Vermont are flooding after recent heavy rainfall and snow melt.

Police are keeping an eye on a house in Cambridge that has become its own island because flood waters are surrounding it.

Barricades are up closing a portion of Route 15 to traffic due to flooding.  Vermont State Police are asking drivers to take other state routes.  The traffic is being diverted to Route 14 to Fairfax and on the other side from Route 36 to 108.

FOX 44 and ABC 22 is told water is encroaching Route 109 near Belvidere.

Drivers should take extra caution and stay on paved roads and avoid backroads

Police say they aren't evacuating people from their homes right now, but if the water continues to rise, of course that's subject to change.

People should pack a to-go back just in case people do need to evacuate.
CCTA announced Tuesday the Jeffersonville Commuter bus will not be operating between Cambridge and Jeffersonville Tuesday evening due to flooding. CCTA plans on reevaluating for the morning commute.
