ST. ALBANS, Vt. - St. Albans Police say they recovered a .380 semiautomatic hand gun that was stolen during a robbery at Lake Street Auto on August 11.

Christopher Bailey is accused of using the weapon in an aggravated assault of a female on August 18, at a property next door. Police say Bailey pointed the gun at the female and threatened her.

When police tried to arrest Bailey, police say, he managed to escape and hide under a parked car in a nearby parking lot. When Bailey was arrested police could not locate the hand gun.

Police were able to locate the handgun on the roof of Turning Point after receiving a tip. The gun was fully loaded when police recovered it.

Bailey is charged with aggravated assault, burglary, and violation of probation.
