Police: Man Arrested for Having Bath Salts, Selling Heroin
By Joe Gullo
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. - A man was arrested after police say he sold heroin from a controlled drug purchase in October 2013.
Martin Gonyea, 27, of Springfield, Vt., is being charged with sale of heroin and possession of a stimulant drug (bath salts).
During a search prior to the arrest of Gonyea, police say, they found a small amount of crystal/white powder in a baggie in his waistband. The powder was sent to the Vermont Forensic lab and the results found the crystal/white powder contained a-Pyrrolindinopentiophenone (a-PVP).
Police say a-PVP is a stimulant drug that is found an ingredient in bath salts.
Gonyea is scheduled to appear in court in May.
