Police: Men Steal Thousands of Dollars Worth of Stolen Property from Vehicles

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - South Burlington Police arrested two people who they say broke into vehicles in the areas of Logwood Street and Forest Street early Thursday. The incident happened just after midnight.

Police say they recovered several thousands dollars of stolen property from William Slingerland, 20, of Burlington, Vt., and Tam Mai, both of Burlington, Vt.

Slingerland is charged with grand larceny, petit larceny, possession of a regulated drug, false information to a law enforcement and violation of conditions of release. He also had an active arrest warrant at the time of the incident.

Mai is charged with petit larceny. He had two active arrest warrants at the time of the incident.

Both were arraigned on Thursday.
