ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. - Police are searching for a man who they say solicited a teenager for sex on a busy street Sunday night.

According to police, a 14 year-old male victim says he was near the intersection of Railroad Street and Maple Street at 7:40 p.m. when the incident happened. The victim says he was approached by a man in his early 20s, and was solicited for sex.

The victim says the man had a scar near his left eye, was not clean shaven, and wore a black baseball hat with a partially ripped off visor. The suspect was driving in a newer model black Toyota Corolla with a "Vermont Strong" plate on the front, according to police.

Police say the teenage victim pepper sprayed the suspect, who then threatened to shoot the victim before fleeing the scene.

Anyone with information should call St. Johnsbury Police.
