Sessions Being Held For Laid Off IBM Workers

MONTPELIER, Vt. - The Vermont Department of Labor is holding information sessions on Thursday for laid off IBM workers certified by the USDOL as "trade adjusted."

A press release says the following individuals in the following areas are eligible for Trade Adjustment Assistance:
  • Technical Operations
  • Global Procurement Division, including on-site leased workers of L.J. Gonzer Association and Manpower
  • 200 mm Manufacturing
  • 200 mm Enablement, including on-site leased workers of L.J. Gonzer Association and Manpower
The Vermont Department of Labor is inviting individuals in the above groups to the informational session. The sessions will have presentations on Trade Adjustment Assistance and TRA benefits. 

The sessions will be held at the Double-Tree Hilton in Burlington.  The first session starts at 9 a.m. (registration 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.) and 1 p.m. (registration from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.). 

Participants who attend will be able to complete their initial paperwork for the Trade Assistance and schedule individual assistance meetings with Department of Labor staff.

The Department says they will host sessions for other dislocated workers in other areas in the upcoming weeks.
