BURLINGTON, Vt. - Governor Peter Shumlin has said in a letter he wants to help with the immigration crisis on the border but he doesn't think the Green Mountain State has the space.

Shumlin told the Department of Health and Human Services that Vermont doesn't have the kind of facilities to handle a large influx of people, up to 1,000 children according to the Health and Human Services request.

However Shumlin did say there are some options to house 75 to 100 children.

He says they have also offered to help Massachusetts after Governor Deval Patrick proposed two military bases there as solutions.
