Skier Dies From Accident at Stowe Mountain Resort

STOWE, Vt. - A man died from a skiing accident at the Stowe Mountain Resort on Tuesday. The accident happened at around 1 p.m. 

Police say 30-year-old Roman Plonski, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was skiing down the Upper Gondolier trail and lost control. Plonski then hit another skier before sliding into a trail sign. 

The Mount Mansfield Ski Patrol brought Plonski down the mountain to the Ski Patrol First Aid Room. Stowe Rescue and Mount Mansfield Ski Patrol continued medical attention. Plonski died at the scene.

Police say Plonski was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. 

The Stowe Police Department is still investigating the incident.
