IRASBURG, Vt. - Speeds reached 100 mph in a police chase through four Northern Vermont communities Saturday night.

Just before 11 P.M., Vermont State Police say a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle on Route 58 in Irasburg. The driver, a 37 year old Johnson, Vermont man, fled in his vehicle as the trooper approached.

According to police, the suspect reached speeds in excess of 100 mph as the chase continued through Lowell and Eden.

The 38 mile chase, which lasted some 40 minutes, ended in North Hyde Park after spike strips were deployed with the help of the Lamoille County Sheriff's Department and the Morristown Police Department.
