Officials in Vermont say snow and wind are affecting driving conditions in the state Friday morning.

Parts of the state have seen nearly 16 inches of snow since it started to drop Thursday morning.

FOX44 spoke to the Vermont Agency of Transportation Friday morning. They say whiteout conditions are being reported on Interstate 89, making travel difficult.

Officials say if you don’t have to be on the road—stay home.

Those who do need to travel should allow plenty of extra time to reach their destination, drive slow, and leave plenty of room between their vehicle and the vehicle in front of them to allow for extra braking distance.
