A line of storms moving through Vermont is causing power outages.

Just before 8 p.m. on Thursday, over 5,600 power outages have been reported. The bulk of outages are in Rutland and Windsor counties.

In an email to FOX44, Green Mountain Power spokesperson Dotty Schnure said the outages are weather-related. She says the Poultney area in particular got hit hard—strong winds knocked down trees and power poles.

Crews are currently working to restore power.
