VERMONT- Thanks to a new labeling law in Vermont, people will soon know if their food has been genetically modified.

Coming up at 10 p.m. Monday on FOX44, Reporter Steph Machado separates fact from fears about genetically modified food ingredients.

Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin (D-Vt.) signed the legislation last week. It takes effect in 2016.

he law calls for labeling of processed GMO foods and for retailers to post signs on displays of unpackaged genetically engineered foods.
