BURLINGTON, Vt. - A UVM a capella group says its missing its star Monday night after a weekend ski accident took her life.

Zest a capella is mourning the loss of their friend and fellow member Kendra Bowers. She passed away on Saturday after a skiing accident at Sugarbush Resort.

Bowers was on vacation with her family.

The 19-year old was a Newport, Rhode Island native who was known as the life of the party.

"She was this vivacious, beautiful, beautiful person, inside and out," Caroline Boudreau, Kendra's friend said. "She was a diva. Honest."

"This isn't just about our group or anything like that. It's so much bigger than that because Kendra was so much bigger than all of it. No matter what she did, she went for it," said Ceara Ledwith, Kendra's friend.

The group will be traveling to Newport on Saturday to perform at Kendra's memorial.

Members say they're thinking of Kendra's family during this tough time.
