UVM Women's Basketball Falls to Boston U in Non-Conference Action

 Freshman Kristina White scored a team-high 16 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Vermont Catamounts, but Boston University was able to post an 80-62 victory in non-conference women's basketball action at Patrick Gymnasium. Boston U improves to 5-8, while Vermont falls to 4-8 on the season.

Niki Taylor added 14 points and four rebounds and Annie Wheeler chipped in nine points and six rebounds for the Catamounts. 

Rashidat Agboola led all scorers with 19 points and six rebounds to pace the Terriers.

Boston University led 18-9 at the 11:07 mark of the first half, but the Catamounts sliced the lead to four, 20-16, behind a 5-0 spurt. The Terriers responded by out scoring UVM 26-13 over the final 8:57 of the stanza to take a 44-27 lead at the half.

The Catamounts were limited to 31.3 percent shooting from the field, while the Terriers shot 50 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes.

Vermont out scored Boston U 10-5 in the first five minutes of the second half to cut the Terriers' lead to 12.  Boston U was able to stretch its lead out to 20 behind back-to-back 3-pointers from Clodagh Scannell and maintained the advantage the rest of the way to post the victory.

The Catamounts won the battle of the boards for the ninth time in 12 games, out rebounding BU 38-34 in the contest.  The Terriers finished the game shooting 51.9 percent from the field, while Vermont shot 35.9 percent from the floor.  Boston U was also aided by a 20-for-25 effort from the foul line.
