MONTGOMERY, Vt.- VSP arrested Matthew Pion, 24, of Lowell for trying to break into a home, and stealing a school bus.

State troopers said this happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday on Hazen's Notch Road in Montgomery.

Pion allegedly stole the bus after he couldn't get inside the home.

He then tried to drive it back to his own house in Lowell, hitting multiple mailboxes along the way, and grinding the bus into the pavement when he couldn't properly turn into a driveway.

Troopers said Pion had a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.

He's at Northwest Correctional Facility on a $5,000 bail.

His court date is set for Tuesday.
