MONTPELIER, Vt. - The Vermont Legislative Committee on Child Protection will hold nine public hearings in early June on the state's current system of child protection.

A press release says residents may testify on their experiences with and observations of the current child protection system.  Participants may sign up at the door 15 minutes before the hearing's start time.

Hearings will last approximately 90 minutes. Written testimony can also be submitted at the hearing or emailed to the committee's assistant Agatha Kessler.

The Committee on Child Protection was established in response to the tragic death of Dezirae Sheldon earlier this year.
