Vermonters will get a chance to weigh-in starting Tuesday on the state’s Department of Children and Families.

On Tuesday, the Committee on Child Protection will be in Chester, Manchester and Rutland.

The special committee was formed following the deaths of two Vermont toddlers.

They’re looking for suggestions on system improvements, best practices for family reunification, resources and the state's effectiveness in protecting children from abuse and neglect.

Hearings will last approximately 90 minutes. Written testimony can be submitted at the hearing or can be e-mailed to the committee's assistant at any time, Agatha Kessler, akessler@leg.state.vt.us.

Participants may sign up at the door 15 minutes prior to the hearing's start time.
