BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Vermont Medical Examiner ruled a 15 month baby boy's death in Winooski as a homicide.

Burlington Police say the death certificate from the medical examiner's office indicated the manner of death was from trauma to the head and neck.

On April 4, emergency services responded to a report of 15 month baby boy Peighton Geraw that stopped breathing at an address on Mallets Bay Avenue in Winooski. The child was brought to Fletcher Allen where he was pronounced dead.

The Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations were contacted by the Winooski Police Department and were notified of the death. An investigation into the baby's death was started immediately.

"This is a priority for our office. It's something, you know, we're working on everyday and we're hoping to get a resolution as quickly as we can," Sgt. Michael Warren, Director of Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations, said.

Police say it's hard to say what charges might come out of this because the investigation is on going.  So far, there have been no arrests.
