Reps in the Colchester area say they're happy it's just snow because salt and sand are not needed as much. Basically, all crews need are plows.
Also, the timing of the storm may work out well for everyone.
"We get to battle the storm during the less traveled part of the day," Dave Blackmore, VTrans District Administrator, said. "So we're in hopes that we can take the brunt of the storm during the night, have things plowed off through the night, and have a decent commute Friday morning."
Blackmore says the last few weeks of calm weather have been a blessing for VTrans. That's because the mid-point of winter may have been around Groundhogs Day, but VTrans winter storm budget hit his halfway point back in December.
