Volunteers to Deliver Supplies to Animals in Need, then Rescue Dogs from Houston

11 volunteers from All Breed Rescue and Oh My Dog left for Houston Friday night

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - Friday night, several trucks full of supplies for animals in need left South Burlington for Houston, Texas. Eleven volunteers from All Breed Rescue and Oh My Dog are making the trip.

With them, they're bringing medical supplies, food, water, toys and more for dogs and cats.

Whitney Troy-Vowell, owner of Oh My Dog says the outpour of the support has been what's made this experience something he'll never forget.

"I'd lost my faith in humanity recently with everything that's been going on. I'm just blown away, this is amazing. This is the most powerful thing I've even been involved with. It was just a silly idea I had on my porch and the support of the community has just been amazing. We should be so proud," said Troy-Vowell.

Delivering supplies isn't the only thing volunteers are doing.

They plan on bringing back around 25 dogs, already in shelters, to make room for the dogs displaced by Tropical Storm Harvey.
