Norton, Vt. - Police say Andrew Boright, 54, of Piermont, NH, was riding his snowmobile Monday afternoon on the VAST trail near Route 114 in Norton, Vt. Agents from U.S. Customs and Border Protection were flagged down, and told Boright was unresponsive.
Police say Boright was riding with a group, some of whom got stuck. Witnesses say Boright claimed he wasn't feeling well, and noticed he had dropped back.
An off-duty Orleans County Sheriff Deputy found Boright slumped over the handlebars of his snowmobile. Police say it did not appear to have been involved in an accident. CPR was performed.
Police say Boright was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy has been scheduled. Police say early indications don't point towards a snowmobile accident, or other suspicious circumstances.
