VSP: Tractor-Trailer Rollover Caused by Drunk Driver Changing Pants in the Cab

Williston, Vt. - Vermont State Police say the tractor-trailer rollover that happened on I-89 Wednesday morning was caused by a drunk truck driver that was changing his pants in the truck cab during the crash.

According to police, Allen R. Johnson, 62, of Meriden, CT, was driving north on I-89 by exit 11 at 63 miles-per-hour while standing up between the two front cab seats when the truck rolled over.

Police say Johnson took a Preliminary Breath Test and had a .209 BAC which is five times over the legal limit for someone driving a commercial motor vehicle.

The rollover caused traffic issues for several hours.

Investigators say Johnson is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court on November, 22 to answer to the charges of Driving Under the Influence while Operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle and Negligent Operation.
