Williston, Vt - Vermont State Police say a woman has been charged with grossly negligent operation, after she drove the wrong way down I-89.
Police say the driver was identified as Sandra Heath, 80, of Stowe, Vt.
Vermont State Police and the Richmond police department responded to a report of a wrong-way driver in Williston, Vt. around 8:53 pm Monday.
According to police, the driver was reportedly going southbound in the northbound lane of I-89 near exit 12. Police say troopers were able to stop the car 3.5 miles away, near mile marker 80.
According to a release, Heath was screened at the University of Vermont Medical Center for potential medical issues, and was processed at the Williston barracks.
Heath is scheduled to appear in Chittenden Superior Court on April 24, 2017.
