Torrance's Forecast: -Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. Showers and storms will continue to fire up Saturday afternoon and evening, a few could be strong to severe producing gusty winds, hail, and frequent lightning. Remember if you can hear thunder you care close enough to the storm to be struck by lightning. Our front will continue to slide to the east this evening, after sunsets these showers will start to diminish because they lose the daytime heating which fuels the storms. Pockets of fog will also form in protected/sheltered valleys and locations that saw rainfall during the afternoon hours. Overnight lows will fall to either side of 60° with a few cooler pockets into the Adirondack's and Northeast Kingdom.
Hope to see everyone Sunday morning in Essex at the Mud Volleyball Tournament to support the Epilepsy Foundation of Vermont! A few scattered showers will linger into the morning hours as the clouds and showers march to the east. But we been told those showers will keep the mud "fresh". Temperatures will start in the low to middle 60s tomorrow morning, with highs reaching the middle 70s during the afternoon hours. Cloud cover will continue to diminish into the afternoon hours as well with some areas seeing partly sunny skies. Heading into Sunday night we are becoming partly to mostly clear with patchy fog, and overnight lows in the middle to upper 50s.
Looking ahead to next week weather will be on the quiet side thanks to a ridge of high pressure building across the region. Outside of a spotty shower Monday or Tuesday across the high country we are mostly dry with a solid mix of sun and clouds with highs on either side of 80°. More sunshine is expected Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the low 80s, still holding onto summer. Come late week we are looking unsettled with showers and storms once again with highs in the upper 70s.
Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy with an isolated thunderstorm and scattered showers. The storm threat diminishes after midnight. Though a few spot showers will linger into the overnight hours. Patchy morning fog with a morning low in the low 60s with a light wind.
