Weather: A Beautiful Week Here in the North Country but All Eyes are on Irma (9/9/17)

Irma makes its right turn towards Florida

Haley's Forecast: - Today's weather was a little dreary with chilly temperatures and what I like to call a spitting drizzle. But have no fear the weekend is not lost- Sunday's forecast will definitely make up for it.

Tomorrow temperatures will get into the mid 60s to low 70s. A few areas of fog may develop over night in some of the valleys so those areas may have to clear that away before tapping into the beautiful blue skies but by the afternoon everyone will be basking in the sunshine.

That beautiful weather continues through much of the work week next week. Monday will feature a couple more clouds but overall mostly sunny with temperatures in the mid 70's- average for this time of year.

Tuesday once again may start off with some patchy fog but most areas will clear out quickly allowing temperatures to rise into the mid 70's
The beautiful stretch continues through the week and our next chance for some showers comes on Friday.

The latest track of the storm is ever changing. Right now the storm is a category 3 with winds 120 miles per hours but is likely going to strengthen as is taps into the warm gulf waters between Cuba and the Florida keys.

The forecast cone it has shifted to the west which is a worst case scenario for all of Florida.

All hurricanes are broken down into quadrants. The left quadrant being where the greatest storm surge is possible.
That means the Florida Keys and western coast of Florida up through Fort Myers and Naples will likely see a storm surge upwards of 9 feet on the shoreline.

The right quadrant of the storm which is expected to travel over central Florida is where the strongest wind and heaviest rain occur.

It is also where the greatest risk for tornado is located. A tornado watch has been issued for all of southern Florida and there have already been tornado warning issued and numerous videos of water spouts are  coming in from the Keys and up toward central Florida.
