Weather: Another Beautiful Day Ahead, Then Clouds and Rain Return (5/27/17)

Torrance's Forecast Discussion

Torrance's Forecast: - Hello, I hope you are all enjoying the unofficial start to summer! Summer like weather will continue, but for only one more day as active weather returns. In the short term, the forecast is holding steady. Saturday afternoon into the evening clouds will continue to decrease, and temperatures will fall to seasonable overnight lows. Near the 50 degree mark. Great sleeping weather, open up the windows! We can thank a ridge of high pressure for the current weather we are having, and if you loved Saturday, tomorrow will be even better.

To start off Sunday, you will find a few areas of morning fog. The fog will not last for long, as sunshine warms us up. The weather for the Vermont City Marathon is also looking fantastic! Temperatures will start off in the early morning around the low 60s, and will slowly climb to the mid 70s during the early afternoon. While it will not be as hot and muggy as last year, it will be sunny. Make sure to use your sunscreen! During the day a light south wind will pick up between 5-10mph.

As Sunday turns into Sunday night the clouds will return as our ridge of high pressure slides to the east, and more active weather replaces it. Good news, we will get to finish up our Sunday dry, and the rain doesn't look to arrive until the early morning hours Monday. The bad news, this weather is sticking around during the holiday on Monday. Showers will be heavy at times, then becoming scattered on Monday with daytime highs reaching the mid and upper 60s. It will also be breezy at times thanks to a southeast wind at 10-20mph.

Tonight: Clearing clouds, becoming mostly clear. Overnight low 51°. Wind: South 5mph.

Sunday: A few areas of morning fog, otherwise we are mostly sunny. Daytime high 78°. Wind: South 5-10mph.

Sunday Night: Increasing clouds, becoming overcast with rain developing after midnight. Overnight low 58°. Wind: 10mph.

Memorial Day: Mostly cloudy to overcast with moderate rain giving way to scattered showers. Daytime high 67°. Wind: Southeast 10-20mph.

Have a safe holiday weekend!
