Weather: Back to School Forecast (8/30 AM)

Amanda's Forecast Discussion

Good morning!

Happy first (or second) day of school! A lot of students and teachers head back to school today or this week. The weather is cooperating, making for smooth commutes on both ends of the day as your family adjusts to a new schedule. Wednesday morning, we're mostly cloudy (with a few sprinkles possible over southern counties) as a low spins from the mid Atlantic to the southern New England coast today.

Those clouds clear out by midday, lingering a little longer in southern and eastern Vermont into New Hampshire. This afternoon, mostly sunny. Low to mid 70s. Light northwest wind. Tonight, mostly clear with clouds increasing from the northwest after midnight.

If you're planning to head to the Champlain Valley Fair, we're your official forecast! No weather woes today, or really tomorrow either, though it is more active. A cold front will swing on through Thursday, bringing scattered rain. But showers are mostly light and mainly fall during the morning. Everybody sees less than 0.10" of rain, with most topping out around a few hundredths of rain. Upper 60s. Breezy northwest wind following the front during the afternoon, up to around 15 mph.

Friday, we're feeling like Fall for the first day of September. Overnight lows Thursday night and Friday night bottom out in the 30s to low 40s with daytime highs Friday near 60°. Sunny and 70s on Saturday, but dodging showers again Sunday into Labor Day.

Have a fabulous day!
