High pressure takes over midweek providing us with a couple of beautiful days. Morning fog and mid/upper level clouds clear out early Wednesday. It's then sunshine and smooth sailing through the rest of the day...and into Thursday, too! High temp today, a tad cooler thanks to last night's cold front, mid to upper 70s. Light north wind.
Tonight, mostly clear and a tad chilly for August. That low temp bottoms out in the mid 50s valleys to 40s and even upper 30s in colder areas of the Northeast Kingdom and Adirondacks. Thursday, mostly sunny. Upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Clouds start increasing after sunset Thursday night.
Friday, swap those shades for a rain jacket. Late Friday morning right through the afternoon, numerous, steady showers should be expected. While no thunderstorms are forecast with a lack of instability, there will be an influx of moisture from the southwest and rain may be heavy at times. Low 70s.
Saturday, the front shifts off to the east, but that doesn't mean we dry out immediately. Clouds will be fairly stubborn and a few more mountain-enhanced, terrain-induced type showers could pop up as an upper level trough takes its sweet time swinging through. Overall, the weekend is a LOT drier than Friday, but not guaranteed to be rain free. Upper 70s to near 80 degrees both days.
Early next week, great news for Eclipse viewers, we're mostly sunny and unseasonably warm. The temp reaches into the low 80s through midweek.
Have a fantastic day!
