Dry and Cool Now, Heatin' Up Later! (6/14/2017)

Happy Wednesday,

Man, today was absolutely gorgeous. Sunny but comfortable and not too hot, highs reached the upper 60s and lower 70s! Unfortunately, it's not going to stay that way as another round of heat moves through. We still have one more night of refreshing air to go. Wednesday night, under a clear sky and a light wind, lows will fall into the middle and upper 40s. If that sounds chilly, some parts of the Northeast Kingdom and the Adironacks will fall into the upper 30s! Brrrr

Thursday, we start to warm up! I don't see any issues with the morning drive. Skies will be bright and sunny with temperatures climbing into the 50s. As the day goes on, we stay mostly sunny with highs in the upper 70s. After lunch time you will notice more clouds overhead but the day will be dry. Thursday night, clouds get thicker and rain arrives by sunrise Friday morning. Overnight lows stay mild, only dropping to near 60°. Rain will continue off and on especially during the first part of Friday. Friday afternoon rain becomes more hit or miss with highs in the low 70s.

Friday night, most showers are done and there shouldn't be any big weather issues for Friday night plans. Meanwhile, overnight into Saturday it's going to be a little muggy again with lows in the low to mid 60s. Saturday & Sunday will be summery weather days. Expect quiet starts with spotty afternoon thunderstorms. Severe weather doesn't look to be much of a risk over the weekend. However, you should always remember, if you're close enough to hear thunder, you're close enough to get struck by lightning. Meanwhile outside of any storms, highs will get hot again. We'll all be sweatin' to the 80s with a shot at 90° on Sunday!

Monday is our next best shot at  rain and widespread thunderstorms. It's a little early for exact details but the set up continues to trend for a few strong thunderstorms in the afternoon. Tuesday & Wednesday we cool things off but keep a chance of showers.

Oh! Incase you haven't heard, the summer solstice is Wednesday at 12:24 am. Sunrise is at 5:08am and it will set at 8:41pm! From there our days get shorter but before you panic...we're only losing seconds per day until July 6th!
