Weather: Stormy Friday, quiet weekend (5/31/2018)

Are you ready for May to be over? It was a warm month with only a handful of days near or below average. When the numbers get crunched, we're going to finish the month about 6° above average! It'll be good enough for top 5 warmest Mays on record in Burlington.

Thursday night, isolated to spotty showers move east and continue during the day Friday. Friday afternoon, it gets muggier as leftover tropical moisture from Alberto keeps streaming into the northeast. There's a threat for slow moving downpours, small hail and lightning. The storms will be feisty but the severe threat is low, so I'm not expecting many, if any, warnings to be issued. If you've got outdoor afternoon plans, it'll be a good idea to keep your radar handy. Meanwhile, highs will approach 80° again.

Showers will continue through very early Saturday morning but gradually move south of us during the day. At this point it's looking like we'll be able to salvage most Saturday and Sunday for a decent looking weekend. Highs will be in the low 70s and humidity will be much lower! Make your plans now! Early next week, we'll be rainy and colder with highs in the 60s Monday & Tuesday.

I hope you're ready for the weekend!
