Torrance's Forecast: - Hello everyone and good morning! This is SkyTracker Meteorologist Torrance Gaucher, in this morning for Amanda Lindquist. One more day of record heat is on the way for the northeast, have you enjoyed the sweltering weather? While it will not be AS hot, it will still be plenty warm to borderline hot. Most likely will set many new day time record high temperatures across the region, though the 90s are looking out of reach. Ending the heat wave in the Queen City. This is now the latest heat wave ever recorded in Burlington, Vermont. The prior record was set September 8-10, 2002.
Our weather set up has the ridging of high pressure that has provided us with the abundance of sunshine off to the east. Allowing for a cold front to move across the entire east coast. Before the cold front arrives we start the morning off with areas of fog, most dense will be to the east of the Green Mountains. Late morning the fog will burn off, as the sun rises and the lower atmosphere heats up. Then we are left with sunshine into the middle to late afternoon, that is when we watch for increasing clouds ahead of the cold front. Before the cold front arrives, we have another day of the heat reaching the middle and upper 80s with muggy conditions. Scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm or two are possible as we head into the evening hours, the front should clear the region during the overnight hours.
Thursday we kick off the day still mild, in the middle to upper 50s (average morning low is middle 40s). Thanks to a northwesterly wind, our daytime highs will only climb to the middle and upper 60s under partly cloudy skies. A few morning showers can't be ruled out. Heading into Friday we are mostly sunny, and much cooler with a high in the upper 50s to low 60s. Looking ahead to the weekend we have a weak front moving across the region early on Saturday that could result in the chance of a few spotty shower. Cloud conditions leave us a mix of Saturday with mostly sunny on Sunday. For all the fans of fall weather, this is your weekend! Daytime highs will be in the low to middle 60s.
