Weather: Sunday Starts Soggy, Followed by Partial Afternoon Sun (10/7/17)

Torrance's Forecast Discussion

Torrance's Forecast: - Hello folks, a bit of a so/so day with clouds and showers about the region. The forecast with be a bit of a teeter totter with periods of wet and dry conditions. Heading into the remainder of Saturday we are dodging only a few light showers, as we sit in the warm sector of our current weather maker. Around sunrise Sunday a cold front will march across western New York, this front will provide at times moderate and heavy downpours... along with a few embedded thunderstorms. The front will move fast, and should clear up across New York's north country late morning and then the Champlain Valley early afternoon. Temperatures will also flirt with near record highs. For example, in Burlington, Vermont the record high stands at 77° set in 1970. The forecast is to reach the upper 70s, possibly 80°. A few things will fact in, how quickly we return to see more sun, and the breezy south wind. Expect winds sustained around 15-20mph for much of the day.

Sunday night into early Monday we are quiet, a brief area of high pressure will arrive clearing out many clouds. Areas of fog will likely develop in areas that see the most clearing Monday morning. Once again this clearing is brief, as we watch the remnants of Hurricane Nate move into our region. Showers look to advance early Monday morning through most of the day, a few showers will linger into Tuesday.

Middle part of next week we are quiet and cool. It will sure feel like October Wednesday and Thursday with day time highs near 60°-62°, under mostly sunny skies.

Have a great night!
