Weather: Welcome November (10/31/2017)

Once the numbers are crunched in Burlington, October 2017 will go down as the warmest October on record. We'll end up with an average temperature around 58.6°, beating the old record of 56.4° set in 1947. October in Montpelier, Massena and St. Johnsbury will more than likely also go down as #1 warmest as well.

Trick-or-treat weather looks OK! It'll be a little cloudy, little chilly and at the very most, a little rainy. I can't rule out a few light showers before midnight but most are dry. Otherwise, the sky will have a gloomy look to it with periods of clouds & temperatures in the 40s. During the rest of the night, clouds are stubborn but we'll be dry, quiet & cold; lows will be in the upper 30s. Wednesday will be a quiet day under a solid mix of sun & clouds, highs will be near 50°. Clouds get thicker Wednesday night, rain arrives late and lasts for much of Thursday & Friday. It won't be as windy as it was Monday, but it'll be a bit breezy with gusts near 20mph. We'll quiet down again Saturday, make your plans now! Sunday & Monday we welcome more wet weather with highs dancing around 50°. Meanwhile, lows will drop into the 30s & low 40s every night except Thursday night, it'll be in the 50s. I can hear heaters and smell fireplaces going. Given that it's going to be cold overnight, there are many people still without power and don't have a heat source. Do what you can, help a neighbor if you're able. Hopefully we'll all get the lights and heat back on by Saturday.

Have a great week!
