What's on Tap? Crop Bistro & Brewery

One of the newest breweries in Vermont already has plans to grow.

We traveled to Stowe Vermont and the Crop Bistro & Brewery to check out What's on Tap.

"Even though this brewery is small it has all the bells and whistles of something that is ten-times its size" says Will Gilson Crop Bistro & Brewery's head brewer.

Gilson has been brewing for twenty-years. But just launched the Crop beer line in January.

"It's a daunting task but because I've been a brewer for awhile and done some installs before it was a real fun challenge" says Gilson.

The brewery and the equipment might be new. But this building and one that came before it have been where many people interested in craft brewing got their start.

"There is definitely a history here for the number of brewers that came through here and I definitely appreciate their legacy" says Gilson.

Now this one man operation is responsible for his own seven beers on tap from lagers to stouts and everything in between.

Right now the beer is only on tap here. But Gilson hopes this summer to start filling kegs and bottles as he looks for his own success on the Route 100 corridor.

"There are a lot of breweries that have done very well. It's become the golden corridor of breweries" says Gilson.
