The 7th Annual Winter Carnival in Plattsburgh won't happen this year.
The Sunrise Rotary Winter Carnival Committee announced the decision Thursday morning.
Winter Carnival is held every year on the front lawn of CVPH Medical Center.
It's aimed at giving local kids the opportunity to try out winter sports, including bobsledding, cross country skiing all for free.
"We don't want our volunteers or our area families exposed to the elements this weekend. We just think it's safer for everyone," said Allison Hulbert Bruce, Chair of Sunrise Notary Winter Carnival Committee.
The donations for this year's event will be used for next year's Winter Carnival.
