Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Johnston, Iowa, a suburb right outside of Des Moines.

Where did you go to school?

I earned a Bachelor's Degree in journalism with a minor in political science from the University of Iowa.

Where have you worked previously?

I was previously an anchor and reporter for KGAN in Cedar Rapids, IA.

What was the most challenging story you've ever done?

I had an exclusive interview with the wife of a man facing life in prison after a massive immigration raid in Iowa.  It was a difficult story because the interview was in the midst of his trial. The case was receiving a lot of attention and no one in his family had spoken out publicly, so I felt a lot of pressure to show the other side of his life in a fair and balanced way.

Who is your favorite national correspondent?

Robin Meade who anchors "Morning Express with Robin Meade," on HLN because she shows her true emotions and isn't afraid to be herself on the air.

What are your hobbies?

My favorite hobby is cooking. I love trying new recipes and creating my own in the process.  It's always fun and always delicious!

What are your favorite sports teams?

The Iowa Hawkeyes and the St. Louis Cardinals, what can I say, I'm from the Midwest.  I am excited to go to a Boston Red Sox game though preferably when they play the Cards!

What is your favorite book?

Oh, The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is Asian Cuisine, preferably Vietnamese and I am so happy that I've found some great restaurants in Vermont.

What is one activity you would put on a "bucket list"?

I would say traveling all across Europe is at least one of the things on my list and it's a very long list!
