"For us it's mainly that we understand how we work as a team." DiParlo said after the game. "A lot of the guys on this team have been playing together since middle school and we have a lot of returners from last year so it was a really big showing of our team chemistry and how we move the ball."
They've been moving the ball into the net with 36 goals in their first three games compared to just 10 allowed. Now that DiParlo is a senior, it's his time to lead the Redhawks to their goals.
"It's really cool." he said. "It's a good feeling to know that after a few years on the team that we can step up and kind of lead everyone."
"The offseason stuff," said CVU head coach Dave Trevithick. "He works so hard preparing for the season that a lot of the guys can come in and do what we did today because of that preparation offseason."
DiParlo has a clear goal in mind for this season.
"I want nothing more than to get back to where we were last season with these guys it would just be a great feeling." DiParlo said.
He has a plan for next season too. He'll be attending UVM in the fall, not for lacrosse but for neuroscience.
"He's a lot smarter than me so he's well off there." said his coach.
