The Catamounts, who are playing in the NIT for the third time in program history, are a No. 7 seed for the third time. Vermont, which is making its sixth straight postseason appearance, stands at 22-10 overall. The Catamounts, the 2014 America East Regular Season Champions, are looking to earn their first NIT win and fourth postseason victory in program history.
UVM, which has won 18 of its last 20 games, is making its third straight trip to the postseason under third-year head coach John Becker. The Catamounts defeated Lamar in the First Four of the 2012 NCAA Tournament before falling to No. 1 North Carolina in the second round and competed in the CBI last year.
Georgia is a No. 2 seed and stands at 19-13 on the season. The Bulldogs went 12-6 in the SEC and were the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament. Georgia advanced to the semifinals before falling to No. 2 Kentucky, 70-58, on Saturday.
The Bulldogs are making their second postseason appearance in five seasons under head coach Mark Fox and first NIT appearance since 2007. Georgia lost to Washington in the NCAA Tournament in 2011.
Vermont and Georgia have met just once, on Dec. 20, 1973 in Athens, Ga. The Bulldogs posted an 88-55 victory.

Seating will be general admission for the first round of the National Invitational Tournament.
