NCAA Lacrosse: SU men & women lose in ACC title games

(WSYR-TV) - The Syracuse University men's and women's lacrosse teams both came up short on Sunday.

Both were trying to capture an ACC crown.

The men lost 15-14 to Notre Dame, despite five goals from Randy Staats for the Orange.

Kevin Rice assisted on six goals and scored one of his own.

The men will wrap up their regular season against Colgate on May 3 at the Carrier Dome at 4:00 p.m.

The women lost 13-7 to the University of Maryland.  The loss snapped an 11-game winning street.

SU is 17-2 on the season.  Both losses came against Maryland.

Seniors Alyssa Murray and Katie Webster and sophomore Kayla Treanor were named to the All-Tournament team.

Treanor scored three goals on Sunday while Webster scored twice and Murray scored once.

The Orange will close out the regular season on May 3 when it hosts Loyola at 1:00 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
