Rochester, VT -- Rochester senior Pavin Parrish scored 40 points Monday, more than enough to blast past the 2,000 point milestone. Parrish began the night with 1,992 points and is now the 7th Vermonter to reach 2K.

"I don't know. I couldn't even wrap my mind around this when I was younger." said Parrish after the game. "I just wanted to keep getting better and I couldn't even think about getting 1,000 points scored and ended up scoring over 2,000 points. It's crazy."

"I and my wife are about the only two people who know how much work and effort he's put in to make this happen here." said Pavin's father Peter Parrish.  "It didn't just happen because he wanted it to happen. It happened because of a lot of hard work."

"You've got to be here an hour before the game and he's already down here working out." coach Earl Kingsbury said. "He's usually working out an hour before practices then he's working out for 2 hours. He never takes an off day. He's either shooting, working out, doing something to improve his game everyday. 365 days a year. I mean, it's non-stop. That's the difference."

Parrish led Rochester to an 86-50 victory over Arlington.
