PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - On Friday, the Plattsburgh Cardinals unveiled brand new primary, secondary and tertiary designs to be displayed on athlete uniforms and all over campus.
There was nothing "wrong" with the old logo, Athletic Director Matt Howard says, there were just too many versions of it out there.
Of course, there is one, glaring difference between the old, and new designs.
"It's a lot like more, like scary. It doesn't look as soft as our other logo and when you go into competition," says Ian Spear of the Cardinals Men's Soccer team, "You want to look fierce, and I think that's what this new logo gives us. All our teams are good on campus and I think this logo will help them just be more confident in themselves."
There are lots of logos to change on jerseys and at venues in the coming months. Plattsburgh's soccer and volleyball teams begin play on September 1.
