Trampas Demers tops Kyle Busch, Gov. Scott to win Vermont Governor's Cup

BARRE, Vt. - South Burlington's Trampas Demers passed Hinesburg's Bobby Therrien with 10 laps remaining and hung on to defeat the track's points leader in a winning effort at the 38th Vermont Governor's Cup at Thunder Road Speedbowl.

The track saw a capacity crowd, largely due to the inclusion of NASCAR Champion Kyle Busch in the field as well as Vermont Governor Phil Scott.

Neither Busch nor Scott finished the race, but both spent time driving in the top ten.  Following the race, Busch used a helicopter as transportation to reach Loudon, New Hampshire, where he'll race with NASCAR at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
